Find Differences #15 Review

It’s #freemiumfriday again and time for another Android game review! This week we look at Find Differences #15. 

The Find Differences series, by ivanovandapps, is fairly straightforward: several puzzle packs with ten puzzles each (eight puzzle packs in this particular game), in which the player needs to find ten differences per puzzle.

Find Differences #15 is packed with pictures of urban Europe, classic cars, and natural settings. These images have been gleaned from Flickr and players can click through to view the original. Players can zoom in, pay for hints (30 coins each), and postpone the puzzle if they’re stuck. I could not figure out how to zoom out, however, and found myself simply backing out of the puzzle once zoomed in. There is no timer or competitive mode. Players can play without internet access, making the game a good one to have during power outages and while roaming.

 

This app has a very user-friendly interface. Changing languages is as easy as clicking a flag on the first screen, it is easy to switch between puzzles and puzzle packs, and adequate tapping space exists between puzzle solutions. Ads are shown between puzzles and users can pay their earned or purchased coins to remove them.

The only downside is that the app becomes less challenging the more users play it. After a while, it becomes obvious where the developers will photoshop shadows in or clouds out. Also, while I did rate this game five stars, I can’t help but feel that asking players to rate the game five stars is a little tacky. These quibbles aside, this is a great app to have on deck for times when internet access is spotty.

How intrusive are the ads? Not very. Ads are only shown between puzzles and can be removed by paying coins earned by solving puzzles or downloading other apps by this developer.

How is premium currency earned? There is only one form of currency. Players can either buy coins or earn them by solving puzzles, 15 coins at a time. Players can also download other apps by the developer to earn up to 180 coins.
